8.2.2.6. E260: Timeout on primary collimator /
E261: Decode error on disk collimator
The primary collimator is obtained by a leaded rotating disk, mounted
directly on the shaft of M5 stepper motor; the disk position is checked
using a single slot on its peripheral and an optical sensor B8 is used to
check the position. These parts are mounted in front of the X-ray source
assembly (or tubehead assembly).
E260 is displayed when the status of B8 is not found changing in a
pre-determined time; cause can be a fault of the motor chain or an
obstacle.
E261 is displayed if the change is sensed before the pre-determined
steps.
Entering the alignment procedure for primary collimator, the following
message is displayed:
P O S = X S P E E D = Y a
O F F S E T = ± x x x x
Where:
• "X" is signalling the expected position of the primary collimator slit
(0 = PAN Child, 1= PAN Adult, the following are for Ceph formats)
• "Y" is the rotation speed, that can be changed using the up and down
arrows
• "a" is the status of B8 sensor, 0 meaning no slot, 1 slot present.
If rotating the collimator disk using the left/right keys,
the status of "a" is not changing, this means that:
• motor is not running, so check cable from X64 to X31/X30 of the
CPU board (A5).
• B8 sensor is not functioning; check cable X66 to X31/X30 of the CPU
board (A5).
If the cables are OK, in the first case can be the motor (replace the motor)
or the CPU (replace CPU board).
If the sensor is faulty, replace it.
