4. Fill plastic Luer cap with Fluid and place over Luer connection.
5. For first use of the valve following installation or if the valve has not been used for two weeks,
leave for one hour before sampling to allow sanitisation fluid to be effective.
7.3.3 Sampling method
1. Remove Luer cap.
2. Open valve and allow full flow out of the valve for 2 minutes.
3. Do not touch valve as this can dislodge contaminants from the internal components
4. Open sterile container and place under stream of water and fill to appropriate level.
5. Cap container.
6. Turn valve off and sanitise sample point ready for next sample. Leaving the valve full of sanitant
will ensure that it remains in a sanitary condition for the next sample.
7. If the valve is stored in sanitant but not used for a period of time greater than two weeks then it
should be re-sanitised before use.
