of the tank.
Use the „Acknowledge Action Performed‟ button to move to the next stage.
Recirculation stage
– The PLC monitors temperature on TT30-01. Water is continuously
recirculated around the system, through the RO and back to TK30-01, until the recirculation timer
expires. At this point the Rinse to Service stage is automatically initiated.
During the Recirculation stage, if TK30-01 exceeds 30°C (as measured by TT30-01), an
intermittent recirculation sequence is operated. PU30-01 is run for 5 minutes on / 5 minutes off
until the stage timer shown on the HMI expires. A warning is raised on the HMI.
If TT30-01 exceeds the stage advance temperature setpoint a non-fatal alarm is raised and the
cleaning sequence is stepped on to begin the Rinse to Service stage and chemicals are rinsed
out of the unit.
Rinse to Service stage - This is automatically initiated by the PLC once the recirculation stage
timer has expired. VA40-01 is opened to provide the normal RO service concentrate flow rate to
drain and at the same time TK30-01 is filled with softened feed water.
Chemicals in TK30-01 and around the RO system are progressively diluted. After 1
– 2 hours
rinsing, TK30-01 feed conductivity (as monitored by AIC30-01) and the RO permeate
conductivity (AIC45-01) should have approached normal service values.
Check TK30-01 contents to ensure that no visible traces of the cleaning solution remain, e.g.
foam / coloured water. The tank drain valve V30-02 and the permeate sample point (V45-01)
can be used to confirm that an acceptable water quality has been reached
– normal pH and
conductivity.
Note: Failure to adequately rinse out cleaning chemicals can result in damage to down stream
equipment.
The unit will continue to operate in the Rinse to Service stage until there is operator intervention.
When acceptable water quality has been achieved use the „Acknowledge Action Performed‟
button to continue.
Final Stage
– PU30-011 stops and the system is returned to shutdown. The CIP sequence is
now complete. A second
“RO Clean”clean can be conducted if required, by selecting the „Start
Clean
‟ button, otherwise follow the on-screen directions .
Remove the CIP by-pass hose and replace the blanking caps. Fully open V45-03. Use the
„Acknowledge Action Performed‟ button to complete the operation.
The unit is now no longer in the CIP1 mode.
Return to the O
verview screen and select „SERVICE‟ to put the unit back into service operation.
Following a return to the Service mode a 1 hour timer is initiated. The new RO flux rate is stored
after 1 hour of in service. The new rate is used to determine when the next clean is required.
Notes:
As a minimum requirement the Rinse stage is not complete until the minimum pre-set salt
rejection is achieved and AIC30-01 conductivity is below the high conductivity alarm point. This
