After connecting, the system including the air pump can be started up again.
NOTICE
- Instrument damage!
If protection air filters are not replaced at regular intervals, contaminants could enter the
Control Units or vacuum pump and affect their functions or cause damage.
Prior to an experiment or daily (runtime: >24h), check protection air filters for discoloration. The filters
must be replaced when they show a light discoloration or when the flow rate in one or more cages is
decreasing but LATEST after six months. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
Used filters…
…should be disposed of in accordance with your local waste disposal regulations.

NOTICE
- Reduced lifetime!
If excess heat produced by the Air Drying Units cannot dissipate to the outside, this may
reduce lifetime.
Ensure that the device is properly ventilated:
•
Min. distance:

Air Drying Unit - Wall: >=150…200mm (>=5.91...7.87inch)
o
Air Drying Unit - Other devices: >=150…200mm (>=5.91...7.87inch).
Excess heat produced by the device is dissipated to the outside, so that the device must be properly
ventilated.
Air Drying Unit location
Position the Air Drying Unit so that it is at a lower level than the Unit with the O2
and CO2 sensors,
thus any condensate will always run off into the separating bottle.
Before the sample flow enters the Calorimetry Control Unit and the O2 and CO2 analyzer, the sample
flow should have moisture removed from it so that no condensed water can form on the sensors. This
is done by including an Air Drying Unit downstream to the Sample Switch Unit that functions
according to the
In addition to the inlet and outlet connections for the sample air, the Unit has a display showing the
current temperature and as well as status LEDs for "Power" and "Cooling". The instrument is set to
the required temperature value in the factory and is ready for operation after it is powered ON. The
Air Drying Unit is operated at a temperature of 5°C (41°F). Do NOT alter the temperature setting.
Control panel
only. Do NOT operate the buttons below the display, as this could cause
malfunction of the device.
The condensed water is collected in the glass vessel(s) of the Air Drying Unit. An additional
separating bottle is included downstream between Air Drying Unit and Calibration Control Unit to
remove the last traces of condensate.
