Notification Configurations

Enabling the VLAN Traps Globally
Step 1
configure
Enter Global Configuration Mode.
Step 2
snmp-server traps vlan
[ create | delete ]
Enable the corresponding VLAN traps. The command without parameter enables all SNMP
VLAN traps. By default, all VLAN traps are disabled.
create:
Triggered when certain VLANs are created successfully.
delete:
Triggered when certain VLANs are deleted successfully.
Step 3

Return to Privileged EXEC Mode.
Step 4
copy running-config startup-config
Save the settings in the configuration file.
The following example shows how to configure the switch to enable all the SNMP VLAN
traps:
Switch#configure
Switch(config)#snmp-server traps vlan
Switch(config)#end
Switch#copy running-config startup-config

Enabling the SNMP Security Traps Globally
Step 1
configure
Enter Global Configuration Mode.
Step 2
snmp-server traps security
{ dhcp-filter | ip-mac-binding }
Enable the corresponding security traps. By default, all security traps are disabled.
dhcp-filter:
Triggered when the DHCPv4 Filter feature is enabled and the switch receives
DHCP packets from an illegal DHCP server.
ip-mac-binding:
Triggered when the ARP Inspection feature is enabled and the switch
receives an illegal ARP packet, or the IPv4 Source Guard feature is enabled and the switch
receives an illegal IP packet.
Step 3

Return to Privileged EXEC Mode.
Step 4
copy running-config startup-config
Save the settings in the configuration file.
