NOZZLE SELECTION L/HA
BEFORE SPRAYING
See the nozzle chart on pages 56 & 57 to be sure
that your spray nozzles have the capacity
necessary to achieve the application rate
selected.
To select the proper nozzle, you need to know:
1. Recommended chemical application rate in
liters per hectare.
2. Average Vehicle speed in kilometers per hour.
3. Nozzle spacing (20 inches or 50 centimeters).
With this information you can calculate the
volume per minute per nozzle, using the formulas
to the right.

nozzle from chart below .
EXAMPLE (

FORMULA):
Application Rate = 907 L/hectare
Vehicle Speed = 5 km/h
Nozzle Spacing = 50 cm
907 L/ha x 5 km/h x 50 = 3.78 L/min.

With 3.78 L/min and a pressure at 275 kPa you
would select nozzle No. 95-9188.

2. Average Vehicle speed in Miles per hour.
3. Nozzle spacing (20 inches or 50 centimeters).
With this information you can calculate the volume
per minute per nozzle using the formulas to the
right. Then select the proper nozzle from the
following charts.
