Adjusting the Angle

Tools Needed:

• 7/16” Open End Wrench

• 5/32” Allen Wrench

• Drafting Triangle

1. Place the chair on a level surface.

2. Loosen the locknut while keeping the Allen screw from rotating. Loosen only enough to permit the Allen screw to

turn with an Allen wrench. See Figures 11-10 and 11-11.

3. Turn the Allen screw to adjust the angle of the fork so that the fork engages rearward. See Figure 11-10.

4. Using a drafting triangle or similar 90° angle tool as shown in Figure 11-11, rotate the fork forward until the flat

edge of the fork is perpendicular to the level surface.

5. Using the Allen wrench to prevent the Allen screw from turning (and the angle of the fork from changing), use the

Open End wrench to tighten the locknut securely.

6. After tightening the locknut, recheck the fork to be certain it is still perpendicular to the ground before riding.

Note: If your chair is equipped with Frog Legs

, you must square the barrel of the Frog Legs

to a level surface using

a Bubble Level Bracket because the flat edge of the Frog Legs

fork is not parallel to the “Bullet” Caster Housing.
