Chapter 6
Voltage Range Display
- shows the maximum working voltage of the associated
piezo actuator.
Open Loop and Closed Loop
LEDs
- When Open Loop or Closed Loop mode is
selected, the corresponding LED is lit.
Settings display
- shows the name of the associated K-Cube together with the
following user specified settings:
Jog Step Size
- the distance to move when a jog command is initiated. If in closed
loop mode, the step size is measured in microns; if in open loop mode, the step
size is measured in Volts. The step size can be set either via the Settings panel
or by calling the SetJogStepSize method.
Input Source
- displays the input source that controls the Piezo Driver output voltage.
When the unit is in open loop mode, this line displays the Input Source. The input
source is a combination of the software with optionally either the potentiometer or
one of the 3 external input options (SMA connector, Hub Channel 1 or Hub
Channel 2) added in.
When the unit is in closed loop mode, this line displays where the unit takes its
feedback input from (SMA connector, Hub Channel 1 or Hub Channel 2) and what
controls the position (software only or so potentiometer).
If
SW only
is displayed, the unit responds only to software inputs and the HV
amp output is that set usin g the SetVoltOutput method (or th e GUI panel
‘Output’ control).
If
EXT_IN
is displayed, the unit sums the signal on the rea r panel ‘EXT IN’
SMC connector with the voltage set using the SetVoltOutput method (or the
GUI panel ‘Output’ control).
If
Pot
is displayed, the unit sums the voltage set using front panel OUTPUT
control with the voltage set using the SetVoltOutput method (or the GUI panel
‘Output’ control).
If
Pot_EXT_IN
is displayed, the unit sums the voltage set using front pan el
OUTPUT control with the voltage set using the SetVoltOutput method (or the GUI
panel ‘Output’ control) and the signal on the rear panel EXT IN SMC connector.
For example, if
SW only
is displayed, the output voltage is controlled by the
GUI 'Output' control knob (or the SetVoltOutput method) only. Turning the pot
or varying the voltage on the SMA input has no effect. If, however,
SMA Input
+ Potenti Software
is displayed, then the output voltage is the sum of
the contribution of these three factors.
Settings button
- Displays the 'Settings' panel, which allows the tuning parameters
to be entered - see Section 6.2.
Ident
- when this button is pressed, the front panel LED and digital display of the
associated controller K-Cube will flash for a short period.
Active
- lit when the unit is operating normally and no error condition exists.
Error
- lit when a fault condition occurs:
