An Allen screw labeled „#1“ is visible in
the posterior rubber coating. This screw
can be used to adjust the axis friction,
which dampens the flexion of the joint.
Tighten the screw Stronger flexion
damping
Loosen the screw Less flexion
damping
Adjusting the Stop for the
Top Part of the Joint
The adjustment of the stop on the top
part of the joint serves two purposes:
When Using the Joint with
the Lock Activated
Screw #2 can be used to adjust the tole
rance between the joint and the lock, to
ensure that the joint is securely locked.
First, open the lock screw #3.
Tighten the screw Lock locks only
with higher load.
Loosen the screw Lock locks with
relatively little load.
Tighten the lock screw #3 again (1 Nm).
This setting should be individually
adjusted for each patient.
When Using the Joint with
the Lock Deactivated
(Unlocked walking): The possibility to ad
just the top part of the knee joint simul
taneously allows you to adjust the safety
and the flexion behaviour of the joint.
Tighten the screw the top part of the
knee joint is moved
into a more flexed
position the joint
is easier to flex, but
standing stability
is reduced
Loosen the screw the top part of the
knee joint is moved
into a more extended
position the joint
is harder to flex, but
standing stability
is increased
