Adjusting Stance Phase Stability
The polycentric geometry of the P44c
makes for high stance phase stability of the
joint when the leg is extended. Within limits,
you can influence whether the joint should
be adjusted so it is more secure (higher
resistance when flexion is initiated) or
more dynamic.
Please Note!
Only reduce the stance
phase stability for suitable patients who are
familiar with this joint. We recommend not
changing the standard setting when the
patient first starts using the joint.
#10
The screws #10 affect the stops that are
positioned in front of them. These stops
influence the position of the anterior axis
connectors. The standing security of the
joint can be adjusted by changing the
position of the stops.
Tighten the screw flexing becomes
easier less security
Loosen the screw flexing becomes
harder more security

Adjusting Swing Phase Control
On the P44c, swing phase control can be
adjusted with two seperate setting screws.
They are located on the back of the joint,
and can be used to independently adjust
extension damping and flexion damping.
The Allen screws #19 for setting the swing
phase control are marked with the letter „E“
(extension damping) and the letter „F“
(flexion damping).
Tighten the screw more damping
slower movement
Loosen the screw less damping
faster movement
Please Note!
If you feel any resistance on
the screw while carefully tightening it, do
not tighten it with force. The resistance you
feel indicates that the damping has already
been set to the maximum setting, and the
damping valve may become damaged.
