5. Donation in progress
During donation, the clamp is in the ‘locked’ state so blood can flow through the tube
but the tube cannot fall out of the clamp. The screen and the antenna inform about
the progress of the donation. During donation, a number of alarms can warn the user.
An explanation of these alarms can be found in chapter 8 .
Progress bar.
Volume collected so far.
Volume to be collected.
Time elapsed since the start of
the donation. If this text turns
red, the
‘warning time
r
’ is
exceeded. The warning timer is
an option configurable in the
programs.
Estimated time for finishing the
donation. T-RAC II calculates
this time based on the elapsed
time and the flow rate. If this
time turns red, T-RAC II
estimates that the warning
timer will be exceeded.
Stop button. Pressing this
button will immediately stop the
blood flow by closing the clamp.
A new screen will appear that
allows to abort the ongoing
donation, or to continue.
Current flow rate. If this value
turns red, the flow rate is too
low (low flow rate pre-alarm),
see chapter 8 .
Number of events that are
available during donation. Press
the progress bar in order to
reach the events.
[NOTE] At a certain moment during donation, the clamp will automatically close for
15 seconds. This is done in order to check whether the tube is correctly inserted into
the clamp. If weight addition is measured while the clamp is closed, the ‘No tube in
clamp’ alarm will be shown as
explained in chapter 8 . During these 15 seconds, the
low flow (pre-)alarm will not be activated.
