Performance Verification

Use the following procedures to verify the warranted specifications of the GBIC
Test System. Before beginning these procedures, see page 45; photocopy the test
record and use it to record the performance test results. The recommended
calibration interval is one year.

These procedures test the following specifications:

H

Tx DATA, CLK, and SYNC voltage swing

H

Rx recovered DATA and CLK voltage swing

H

Tx DATA duty cycle

H

Random and deterministic jitter

H

GBIC PORT V

Prerequisites

The tests in this section comprise an extensive, valid confirmation of perfor-
mance and functionality when the following requirements are met:

The cabinet must be installed on the GBIC Test System.

H

The GBIC Test System outputs must be terminated in a load of 50

The GBIC Test System must have been last calibrated/adjusted at an ambient
