GBIC Receptacle
The instrument front panel contains a rectangular opening for accepting GBIC
modules. The dimensions for the receptacle and related mechanical rail-guide
assembly are defined in the Gigabit Interface Converter (GBIC) standard 5.1.
The guide and rail assembly (along with trap dust door) used by the GBIC Test
System is a design that meets the GBIC 5.1 standards (see AMP application
notes 114-6061 and 114-6069).

The internal D-connector inside the GBIC Port receptacle is a standard 20-pin
female connector. The pinout of this connector interfaces to a GBIC module
having the pin assignment shown in Figure 10 and Table 5.
