7 – Recorder Functions
Automatically punching in and out
When an IN point and an OUT point are set, press the AUTO
PUNCH button to enter auto punch in/out mode.

Auto punch in/out mode includes a rehearsal function. When
using this function, monitoring between the IN and OUT points
in the same way as when recording is possible without actually
recording.
Rehearsal
1 When the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button to
open the
MENU
screen.
2 Press the REC buttons on tracks to use auto punch in/out
with them.
3 After setting the IN and OUT points, press the AUTO PUNCH
button to enter auto punch in/out mode.
4 Press the PLAY (
Á
) key.
Playback begins from two seconds before the IN point, and
the sound monitored on the recording track(s) switches at
the IN point from the track playback sound and the input
sound to just the input sound. The RECORD (
–
) indicator
blinks when between the IN and OUT points.
When playback reaches the OUT point, the track playback
sound and the input sound becomes the monitored sound
again, and the RECORD (
–
) indicator stops blinking and
turns off. Playback automatically stops one second after the
OUT point.
You can repeat rehearsal until you are satisfied.
Using auto punch in/out to record
When you are done rehearsing, you can use auto punch in/out
for recording.
1 While in auto punch in/out mode, press and hold the
RECORD (
–
) button, and press the PLAY (

) button.
In the same way as during rehearsal, playback begins from
two seconds before the IN point. Recording occurs and the
RECORD (
–
) indicator lights between the IN and OUT points.
2. One second after reaching the OUT point, the recorder
automatically stops, auto punch in/out mode is exited and
the transport locates to two seconds before the IN point.
NOTE
• Auto punch in/out mode cannot be entered during repeat
mode or if no
REC
button has been pushed.
• Auto punch in/out can be undone.
