Navigation Settings

During track navigation along a stored track (see 

page 35

), you can configure the visual and acoustic 

warnings you are given related to your progress along 
the track. Warnings are sounded when you stray from 
the track and before significant changes in direction. 

Distance Warning

 specifies how far in advance of 

each bend in the track the warning should occur. 
Check 

Acoustic Warnings

 to receive audible warn-

ings in addition to on-screen warnings.

During track navigation, you are normally directed to 
follow the stored track in the same direction in which 
it was originally recorded. Check 

Track Back 

if you 

want instead to follow the track from the destination 
back to the starting out point. The Track Beginning 
and Track End icons are shown swapped around in this 
case (see 

Fig. 15

 on page 30).

Orientation Settings

This allows you to choose the preferred screen orienta-
tion with which to use the takwak software (portrait or 
landscape). Note: the takwak software ignores the glo-
bal orientation settings in the Android™ settings.

Connect with Tour Explorer.

This is used to exchange data with Tour Explorer. See 

“Exchanging data with Tour Explorer”

 on page 74.

Form a Group

This item is only shown if you are not currently partici-
pating in a group. See 

“Group mode”

 on page 37.

This menu item opens the online help for the takwak 
Outdoor app.

Track Navigation

With track navigation, twOutdoor navigates you along 
a track which is stored on the device by giving you in-
formation about the way to be followed using large 
green arrows and symbols and optional acoustic warn-
ings. Track navigation is intended for use in outdoor 
activities but it is not suitable for use in a car.
