Cascade
Functions
Cascade
In this mode, several stations can be connected together for DHW production. All stations
are hydraulically separated in the idle state via a zone valve ZV (L4/ N/ PE). The zone valve
ZV of the leading station is always open.
Function
Tapping active,
SEK04 DHW FLOW RATE
>
STE15 MIN. TAPPING RATE
1st station goes into operation; if this reaches the switch-on threshold for another station,
the 2nd station is switched on. The switch-on threshold corresponds to the speed of the
primary pump and is adjustable:
KAS05 CAS. SWITCH-ON THRESHOLD.
. This threshold
must be exceeded for a defined time:
KAS03 DELAY TIME
. Both stations regulate the
DHW nominal temperature value at the outlet sensor TWW; see "8.1 Fresh water produc-
tion", starting on page 27.
If the switch-off threshold is fallen below, the station last activated is switched off. The still
active ones continue to regulate to the DHW nominal temperature value TWWset. The
switch-off threshold corresponds to the speed of the primary pump and is adjustable:
KAS06 CAS. SWITCH-OFF THRESHOLD.
. This threshold must be fallen below for a de-
fined time:
KAS03 DELAY TIME
.
ATTENTION:
This should always be greater than the
minimum speed of the primary pump,
STE03 MIN PRIM. PUMP SPEED
.
8.9.1 Station operating mode
Operating mode
If a station is to be used in a cascade, the value
KAS01 STATION OPERATING MODE
must be set.
0: Standalone
1: Slave
2: Master
Note:
A device in the cascade must be set to 2.
8.9.2 Station allocation
Allocation of the respective eBUS ad-
dress to a station number
Each station is allocated a station number STN 1 ... 5. By linking the unique eBUS address
of the device to a station number, a unique ID in the cascade is possible.
In the adjuster
STN1 ... 5 EBUS MASTER NUMBER
, the locally assigned eBUS address
KOM04 EBUS ADDRESS
is entered during start-up for each station.
Example: 1st station (U2)
2nd station (U3)
3rd station (U4)
STN1 eBUS master number
= 2
STN2 eBUS master number
= 3
STN3 eBUS master number
= 4
8.9.3 Sequence changeover
Sequence switching
The leading station can be permanently defined or can change cyclically. The sequence
switching mode can be defined under
KAS02 SEQUENCE SWITCHING
.
0: No sequence switching
1..7: After number of days
Example: 3 stations
1st station (U2)- 2nd station (U3) - 3rd station (U4) -> Change after x days
-> 3rd station (U2)- 1st station (U3) - 2nd station (U4) -> etc.
