Editing Configuration Profiles I/NET Configuration
4-16 I/NET 2000 Getting Started
This port will be used for printing event messages only. The
printer used for printing events must be capable of
supporting single line feeds. Therefore, it is recommended
that only a dot-matrix printer be used. Refer to the descrip-
tion of Event Actions in TCON 237, “
I/NET 2000 System
Technical Reference Guide ,” and in TCON 236, “ I/NET 2000
System Operator Guide ,” for more information.
Note: In order to print extended ASCII characters on the event printer, a
Windows 98 workstation must load an ANSI driver from the
CONFIG.SYS file. This driver is typically included within the
Windows “Command” directory or within the system’s “DOS” direc-
tory. A Windows NT workstation does
not require this driver.
Example CONFIG.SYS entry:
DEVICE=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ANSI.SYS
4. Select the
Printer line spacing
you prefer to be used for the
event printer.
5. If necessary, enter a
Printer Initialization
string for the event
printer. This string will be sent to your printer by I/NET.
Refer to your printer documentation for additional infor-
mation.
Managing Configuration Profiles
The following sections provide instructions for adding, deleting,
and using alternate configuration profiles.
Adding a New Configuration Profile
To add a new configuration profile:
1. Select
Add
from the I/NET Configuration Profiles dialog
box (see Figure 4-2 on page 4-3 ). The Add Configuration
Profile dialog box displays, as shown in Figure 4-11 .
2. Type the name of the new profile and click
OK
. The Config-
uration editor, shown in Figure 4-3 on page 4-4 , displays.
3. Use the procedures provided in “Editing Configuration
Profiles” on page 4-3 , to define the new profile.
