System Services
As explained in the Overview, I/O Server handles all communica-
tion functions for I/NET, AMT, and Configure. Each of these
programs, or clients, requires I/O Server to be running. These
client applications automatically launch I/O Server, if it is not
already running, when they are started. For most I/NET applica-
tions, you will want I/O Server to continue to run when the client
applications are shut down. This allows you to receive messages,
and equalize files, even when I/NET is not running.
Select
Maintain in background
to keep I/O Server running when
the client applications are shut down. Select
Auto shutdown if no
clients
to close I/O Server when all client applications shut down.
Note:
If all the client applications are closed, you can manually close I/O
Server by right-clicking on the I/O Server icon, in the system tray (see
) and selecting
Exit
from the resulting menu.
