Editing Configuration Profiles
I/NET Configuration
4-12
✧
Normal
(default)
– Select this mode when the worksta-
tion will be used as a standard I/NET 2000 operator
workstation connected to an I/NET 2000 version 2.x
system. This is typically the correct setting for most
I/NET system operators.
✧
System Integrator
– This mode is intended for use by a
System Integrator who will temporarily connect the
workstation (often a portable PC) to a controller LAN in
order to perform DCU database edits on controllers at a
site. While operating in this mode, the workstation will
support both I/NET 2000 version 1.1x and I/NET 2000
version 2.x controllers. Before choosing this mode, refer
to “System Integrator Mode” within
of
TCON237,
I/NET 2000 Technical Reference Guide
, for a
complete description of this feature.
Note:
File equalization is
not
available while the host workstation is oper-
ating in the System Integrator mode. Refer to “System Integrator
Mode” in
of TCON 237, “I/NET 2000 Technical Reference
Guide,” for more information.
2.
If necessary, activate (
!
) the
Set as Filemaster
option to
designate this workstation as the filemaster station. This
option is
not
available if you enabled the System Integrator
option in the previous step.
Note:
If your workstation will be used as a Filemaster, it
must
be configured
with Windows NT and Service Pack 3 or later. A Windows 98 work-
station
cannot
be used as the Filemaster.
3.
If this workstation is
not
the filemaster, enter the name of the
filemaster workstation in the
Filemaster name
field. This
option is
not
available while the System Integrator option is
enabled.
You
must
use the Windows computer name. Locate this
name
on the filemaster workstation,
by selecting
Start
>
Settings
>
Control Panel.
Select the
Network
option and
then, the
Identification
tab. The name is displayed in the
Computer name
field.
