Chapter 3: Maintenance and Component Installation

3.9 Expansion Cards

The SYS-240P-TNRT includes two riser cards to support the use of expansion (add-on) cards.

Caution:

DO NOT perform this service with the system mounted inside the rack.

Installing Expansion Cards

1. Power down the system as described in Section 3.1.

2. Remove the system from the rack and place it on a bench, then remove the cover as

described

previously

3. Remove the slimline SAS cable and pull up the riser card brackets.

•

For the right side (looking from the node rear), open the clip of each slot on the right.

•

For the left side, open the clip of each slot.

4. Remove the blank PCI shield from the chassis.

5. Slide the expansion card shield into the open shield slot while plugging the expansion

card into the riser card.
