This appendix describes the recommended programming to use the Link 150 with a Mitel
key telephone system. The document assumes:
•
The system is a Mitel SX-200 or SX-2000.
•
The Mitel system is installed and initialized.
•
A trained Mitel technician or system administrator will be on site with the Installer to
program the system.
The following procedures will help you set up the SpectraLink wireless telephones to
operate in a way that feels familiar and comfortable to users.
1. Mitel Wiring
The Mitel Technician should provide a modular (RJ11) jack for each Mitel port that will
be connected to a SpectraLink phone.
The Mitel digital station port is a two-wire digital circuit. When wiring to modular jacks,
use straight-through phone cords with RJ11 plugs to connect the MCT45x MCU phone
lines to the jacks.
The digital pair is polarity insensitive. If you reverse polarity the system will
still work.
2. Programming Considerations
Before installation, the parameters of the wired phones should be verified to plan the
parameters required for the SpectraLink phones.
•
Line/Call Appearances - the wireless telephone supports a total of nine line
resources. Which trunks should ring at this phone? Which trunk will be selected when
the user goes off-hook? What extension numbers will be assigned to the wireless
telephones?
•
Function Buttons - the SpectraLink phone supports three flexible function buttons.
Determine which features, if any, should be programmed on the wireless telephones.
These assignments should emulate assignments on the user's wired set.
It may also help to identify a wired set that is programmed exactly or close to the way the
wireless telephones should be programmed, and use the programming for that set as a
model for programming the wireless telephones.
