C. Program Analog System Functions
On an analog telephone system, switch features such as transfer, hold, or speed dial are
usually accessed via key presses or hook flashes. The Link 150 allows the installer to
define important features so they can be accessed from every wireless telephone by
pressing the
FCN
key followed by another key.
Do not program analog features on a digital system.
The model number of an analog system will begin with MCA.
The functions are defined by moving the mode switch on the MCU to the
ADMIN
position
and defining the functions through the Administrative wireless telephone (registered to the
second line on MCU 1). The functions are the same for all wireless telephones in the
system. In systems with more than one MCU, the function definitions are shared by all the
MCUs and only need to be entered once.
For example, suppose your telephone system uses
FLASH * 7
to transfer a call. On the
Link 150, you assign the transfer function to
FCN 2
. The information entered on the
Administrative Call will "map" the
FCN 2
entry on the wireless telephone to
FLASH * 7
on the PBX. When the wireless telephone user enters
FCN 2
, the PBX will enter the
transfer function.
1. Plan The Features
Before programming the features, review the manual for your telephone system to
determine what keystrokes are used to access the desired functions. Then determine
which function key numbers should be assigned to these functions on the Link 150.
The Link 150 will accept programming for eleven functions. The maximum number of
key entries for each function is 20.
Valid entries for a function definition are any of the keys
2-9, *, 0,
and
#,
FCN
, and
START
. A hook flash is entered using the
START
key. A 250-millisecond pause is
entered using the
FCN
key.
2. Program The Features
Functions are defined by placing an Administrative Call using the Administrative Wireless
Telephone (registered to Line 2 of MCU 1). Follow these steps to place an administrative
call and define functions.
In multi-unit installations, be sure all MCUs are properly connected to one
another before making an administrative call. Refer to 5.3.1 Connect Multi-Un
1.
On the MCU that displays a box ID of
1
, move the mode switch to the
ADMIN
position.
