1-11. How to Eject the Cartridge Manually

This section describes how to remove the cartridge manually in such failure as the power of this unit does not turn on
or the loader assembly does not operate.
In this section, the procedure how to eject the first disc in the cartridge is described.

Preparation

1.

Remove the top cover assembly. (Refer to

“4-2. Top Cover Assembly”

2.

Remove the bottom plate assembly. (Refer to

“4-3. Bottom Plate Assembly”

3.

Remove the MC top reinforcing plate. (Refer to

“4-4. MC Top Reinforcing Plate”

4.

Remove the FR front panel assembly. (ODS-D280U) (Refer to

“4-5. FR Front Panel Assembly (ODS-D280U)”

5.

Remove the FR front block assembly. (Refer to

“4-6. FR Front Block Assembly”

.)

Procedure

1.

Align the select loader with the load disc position.
(1) Remove the MC front dust-proof cabinet by loosening the two screws.
(2) Rotate the worm gear in the clockwise direction to separate the cartridge into upper and lower portions.
(3) Observe the disc in the lower shell of the cartridge from the front side of the main unit, and check the position

of the blank slot.

(4) Rotate the worm gear using the scale of the SE elevate rail as a guide, and align the blank slot position with

the rail guide groove position while viewing from the front.

Note

• When rotating the worm gear using the screwdriver, be careful not to cause the tooth skipping of the gear due

to excessive rotation.

• The SE rail plate is pulled by the spring. If a force in the direction opposite to the worm wheel is applied to

the tip of the worm gear, the tooth skipping of the gear may easily occur. Therefore, carefully rotate the worm
gear.
