Starting the Maintenance Menu

Equipment

• For ODS-D280U:

- Personal computer (PC) equipped with USB ports
- USB cable (supplied with ODS-D280U)

• For ODS-D280F:

- PC provided with an FC board recommended by this manual
- FC cable (commercially available)

Note

Prepare a PC that meets the specifications described in the Operation Manual.

• ODS-D280U and ODS-D280F commonness:

- PDW-U1 service software (PDW Terminal)

Tip

To know how to obtain the PDW-U1 service software, contact your local Sony Sales Office/Service Center.

Preparation

Extract the PDWTerminal.lzh file of the PDW-U1 service software.

Place the PDWTerminal folder in an arbitrary location of the PC.

Startup procedure

Connect the PC to the unit.
ODS-D280U: USB cable
ODS-D280F: FC cable

Turn on the power of the unit.

If a cartridge is remaining in the unit, remove it.

Tip

To know how to remove the cartridge of ODS-D280F, refer to

“1-10. How to Eject the Cartridge (ODS-D280F)”

Push the EJECT button to remove the cartridge of ODS-D280U.

Open Computer of the PC and check the drive letter of the unit.

Drive letter of the unit

Open the PDWTerminal.ini file in the PDWTerminal folder by Notepad or similar.
