30.

EXPLANATION

The 0 index of the vertical circle of your SRX is almost 100% accurate, but when it is necessary to 
perform particularly high precision angle measurements, you can eliminate any inaccuracy of the 0 
index as follows.

• If the power is cut off, the vertical circle indexing is ineffective. Do it again every time the power is 

turned on.

• When indexing the vertical circle, sight the target manually.

PROCEDURE

1. Select “Obs.condition” in <Configuration>. Set “V 

manual” (vertical circle indexing method) to “Yes”. 

"21.1 Observation Conditions"

<V manual 0 set> is displayed.

2. Carefully level the instrument.

3. Accurately sight a clear target with a distance of 

about 30m in the horizontal direction with the 
telescope in face left.
Press 

[OK]

. The SRX rotates 180

°

.

4. Accurately sight the same target and press

 [OK] 

to rotate the SRX 180°. The vertical angle is 
displayed. 
This concludes the vertical circle indexing 
procedure.
