Command Usage
This command allows you to disable a port due to abnormal behavior
(e.g., excessive collisions), and then re-enable it after the problem has
been resolved. You may also want to disable a port for security
reasons.
Example
The following example disables VDSL port 5.
switchport broadcast
Use this command to configure broadcast storm control. Use the
no
form
to disable broadcast storm control.
Syntax
switchport broadcast packet-rate
rate
no switchport broadcast
rate
- Threshold level as a rate; i.e., packets per second. (Range: 500
to 262,143 packets per second)
Default Setting
500 packets per second

Command Usage
• When broadcast traffic exceeds the specified threshold, packets above
that threshold are dropped.
• This command can enable or disable broadcast storm control and set
the threshold value for the selected interface.
• However, this configuration then applies to the entire switch.
