7.1 Venting of pump elements
-See Figure 27
The following filling of a grease multiline
pump unit with oil is intended only for the
venting procedure.
Fill the reservoir with oil
• Remove the reservoir cover (1) with
grease follower plate (2) and place it aside.
• Fill the reservoir (
3
) with oil (see Chapter 4
for characteristics) up to about 1 cm above
the strainer (
4
).
Check the direction of rotation of the
drive shaft
The direction of driveshaft rotation
is indicated on each pump by an ar-
row. This marking ensures the cor-
rect direction of rotation of the agi-
tator for each pump type. The pump
should never be put into operation
without the reservoir cover fitted
properly in place.
• Switch on the multiline pump unit briefly
(for about 1 sec.) and check the direction
of rotation.
• Fit the reservoir cover (
1
) with grease fol-
lower plate (
2
) back on the reservoir (
3
)
Actual filling of the multiline pump
unit may be performed only via the
filler socket (
5
).
• Fill the reservoir (3) with grease or oil
(
see Chopter 4 for chorocteristics
) via
the filler socket (
5
) or upstream ball valve
- see Chapter 7.3.
Vent the pump elements
)
To reach the venting duct of the pump
elements, the pressure regulating valve
first has to be dismantled.
• Loosen and remove the pressure regu-
lating valves (WAF 24) (
6
) from all pump
elements.
• Start (switch on) the multiline pump unit.
)
Allow pump to run until bubble-free
grease or oil can be seen discharging
from all pump elements.
• Attach and tighten the pressure regulat-
ing
valves (
6
) on all pump elements
• Let the multiline pump run until
- on an oil multiline pump, bubble-free
oil discharges
