3. Overview, functional description
The FF/FB multiline pump units are driven
by an ATEX electric motor (

), which also
drives the eccentric drive shaft (

) via an
ATEX gearbox (

One (type FF) or two (type FB) cam disc(s)

) running in bearings are flanged on top
of each other on the eccentric shaft (

).
The lower cam disc (row 1) controls the at-
tached pump pistons of pump elements 1
to 12 (

). The cam disc above these (row 2)
(type FB) controls the attached pistons of
pump elements 13 to 24 (

).
Additionally, an agitator (

) is installed at the
end of the eccentric shaft (12). Its task is to
feed the lubricant through the restrainer on
the reservoir bottom (

) into the pump's
inlet chamber.
The eccentric movement of the cam disc
(

) (FF) / cam discs (type FB) forcibly
moves the attached delivery pistons of the
pump elements, which ensures a continu-
ous lubricant delivery rate.
The pump elements (6/

) are available in
designs with a delivery piston diameter of 6,
8, or 10 mm. The delivery rate range is
0.03 to 0.23 cm

at a maximum operating
pressure of 350, 200, or 125 bar.
The lubricant reservoir (

) is available in dif-
ferent sizes for oil and grease applications.
A follower plate (

) (in the grease design) in
the container continuously collects lubricant
medium from the reservoir wall. The grease
follower plate is connected to the contact
rod (

Depending on the design, the fill level
monitor is available to display fill level max.,
pre-warning max.; pre-warning min.; and
minimum. The customer evaluates the sig-
nals.
FF/FB multiline pump units are filled exclu-
sively through the filler socket (

) attached
to the pump housing.
Optionally, a lubricant filter with ball valve
can be located upstream.
For ATEX multiline pumps of series FF/FB for
grease applications, a pressure regulating
valve is mounted on each pump element.
For designs for oil applications,
a joint pressure regulating valve is instead
used that is connected to the pump elements
via a ring line.
