C. Maximum Skin Dose Rate

subject to such regulations, enter "SS"

Set
18 mA
for 110 kV and 70 kV.
•
The measurement must be carried out only if the factory adjustment (anti-isowatt curve)
has changed.
•
Insert the uro insert.
•
Position the dose measurement chamber 30 cm below the I.I. input.
•
Select the I.I. full field view.
•
Fluoroscopy
ON

•
Adjust the measurement chamber so that it is centered with respect to the I.I.
•
Collimate to the dose measurement chamber.
•
Remove the fuse from Z96 in the unit base.
The unit must be moved in the Y direction to facilitate removal of the fuse.
•
Cover the I.I. input e.g. with lead rubber (potential for burning).
•
Select
Skindoserate
in the "Polydoros .. -Service/Adjustment/" window.
•
Exit the message window with
OK
.
•
Switch fluoro
ON
in the "Skin Doserate" window and leave it on until the generator has
reached maximum kV.
•
Adjust the tube current so that the maximum skin dose rate of 9 R/min. is measured.
•
Exit the service program.
•
Exit the adjustment program via ”SYSTEM: QUIT” after completing the POLYDOROS
adjustments.
- Select System/Quit in the main system program.
- In the "System Logoff" window, select "Put to Unit". The word DISCONNECTED is
displayed below in the status line.
•
Perform the measurement and enter the result in the IQC protocol.
•
Reinstall the fuse in Z96.
•
Remove the measurement chamber.
In countries subject to DHHS Regulations (USA, Canada), the skin
dose rate must be limited to 78 mGy/min

If the small chamber is used with the Dali, the correction factor of
0.85 must be included, i.e. measured value x 0.85.
