PROFINET topology – diagnostics

Topology errors are reported to the PROFINET IO controller as diagnostics alarms.

The "Network view" shows the connection errors in form of a red cross [1].

Ethernet ports swapped

Incorrectly set port properties

•

Devices cannot be addressed

Proceed as follows to display information about an error:

1. Select the device or the respective slot.

2. Right-click and select "Module status" from the context menu.

3. Select the "Communication diagnostics" tab.
