Checking the fuel rail
1. Check the fuel rails. Replace the fuel rail
if cracked or deformed.
NOTE:
• To reduce the fuel pressure, see Chapter 4,
“ Reducing the fuel pressure. ”
• To check the fuel injectors, see Chapter 8,
“ Checking the fuel injector. ”
Installing the fuel injector
1. Apply engine oil to new O-rings, and then
install them onto the fuel injectors.
2. Install the fuel injectors

onto the port
fuel rail

, and then install the holders

as shown.
3. Install the fuel injectors

onto the star-
board fuel rail

, and then install the
holders
6
as shown.
4. Install the fuel rails onto the cylinder
heads.
5. Tighten the bolts

equally and gradu-
ally.
6. Connect the fuel injector couplers.
