value or cable loss for the added attenuator or connecting cable. It is also possible to set the power
offset for increasing the gain of the amplifier. A positive value compensates for the loss and a negative
value compensates for the gain. For example: by adding a 10dB attenuator protection sensor to avoid
excessive input power, set the offset value to 10dB, then the power meter reading of the microwave
analyzer is the actual reading. If the measuring port is added with an amplifier with a gain of 10dB, the
offset value is set to -10dB, and the power reading of the microwave analyzer is the actual reading.

b) Press [Offset 0.00], enter the offset value with the numeric keys and press [OK] to complete.
9 Set Average Function
The averaging function is generally used to measure low-power signals or signals close to noise power,
which can smooth the traces to reduce the influence of random noise on the measurement, improve the
measurement accuracy, but simultaneously reduce the measurement speed. The average number of
times determines the number of times the average is read. The higher the average number, the more the
noise is reduced. The average number of times is displayed in the upper left corner of the measurement
data display area. Average times setting range is 1 - 1,000, setting of average number of times will not
affect the calibration accuracy. Steps for average function settings are as follows:

then show the average number of setting tab.
b) When the average number setting tab is on, user can use the numeric keys to type in the value and
press [OK] to set the average number of times.
The average number of times is 16 by default, the setting range is 2 - 1,000, and the average number of
times is displayed in the left information area.
