prevents further increase in pressure.
If this happens in a few breathing cycles, the alarm for
not delivering the user's adjusted volume will be activated (see the alarms chapter).
The flow Pttern sets by the user. Two square and decelerating (Decel.) flow patterns are
selectable in this ventilator.
The time which neither air is delivered to the patient nor exhaled from the patient’s lung
through the airway defin as a Pause. This parameter is adjustable as a percentage of
inspiratory time between 0 and 75%.
Note:
While Vt, Rate, Pause and Ti parameters are changed by the user, Flow and Pause time will
be displayed on the screen.
It should be noted that if Compliance Compensation and Leak
Compensation are desabled, the deliverd flow may be different from the flow displayed on
this menue.
Note:
During inhalation, if the airway pressure for any reason (such as the patient's cough) exceeds
the value specified for it, the exhalation valve opens and prevents further increase in pressure.
Adjustable parameters in V-SIMV mode are:
Definition
Parameter
Percentage of delivered oxygen to the patient
2
O
Mandatory breaths per minute
Rate
Target tidal volume delivered per breath
t
V
Positive end expiratory pressure
PEEP
Pressure more than PEEP that applies to spontaneous breaths.
support
P
Inspiratory time
Ti
The method of detecting the patient's respiratory effort (flow or pressure).
Trigger
Threshold of detecting patient respiratory effort based on flow or pressure
F Trig/ P Trig
Percentage of peak inspiratory flow in spontaneous breath necessary to
terminate
inhalation
and initiate exhalation.
% Esens
Time required for inspiratory pressure to rise to set pressure
Rise Time
Percentage of inhalation time after which the current volume is delivered,
respiration remains in the inhalation and then exhalation begins. During this
period, no volume is transferred to the patient.
Pause
the pattern of applied flow to the patient
Flow pat.
If the patient tries to breathe during inhalation, the device responds to this
request by switching on the pressure control
