7. Sensor installation
This section describes the hardware and software configuration necessary to
install a Sensor. Refer to Section 3 mounting instructions.
Configuration information
When you configure the Sensor, you will be asked to provide configuration
information. Information that is required to complete the installation is listed with
an asterisk (*) in the table that follows. Items not marked with an asterisk are
optional during installation and can be specified afterwards on the Sensor
Configuration  General Settings page if necessary.
It may be useful to write the configuration values in the blank column of the table
so that you can refer to them during the configuration step or afterward.

Management interface port settings:
10/100/1000 Mb/s, half- or full-duplex, or auto-negotiate

The settings of the switch port or hub that the Sensor management
port connects to.
Monitored network port settings – mon0
10/100/1000 Mb/s, half- or full-duplex, or auto-negotiate
As required by the tap or mirror port on the monitored network.
Does not apply to Sensors with 10 Gbps interfaces.
