These settings must be set up by the customer before the HDD Encryption unit can be installed.
2. Make sure that “Machine Management” is ON.
[User Tools/Counter] key -> [System Settings] -> [Administrator Tools] -> [Administrator Authentication
Management] -> [Machine Management] -> [On]
If this setting is OFF, ask the customer to change the setting to ON before you perform the installation procedure.
3. Make sure that “Administrator Tools” is enabled (selected).
[User Tools/Counter] key -> [System Settings] -> [Administrator Tools] -> [Administrator Authentication
Management] -> [Machine Management] -> [On] -> [Select available settings] -> [Administrator Tools]
If this setting is disabled (not selected), ask the customer to enable (select) the setting before you perform the
installation procedure.
Installation Procedure
1. Turn ON the main power.
2. Enter the SP mode.
3. Execute SP5878-002.
4. Exit the SP mode after "Completed" is displayed.
5. Turn OFF the main power.
Enable Encryption Setting
Machine Data Encryption Settings can be enabled by the following procedure.

When setting up encryption, specify whether to start encryption after deleting data (initialize) or encrypt and
retain existing data. If data is retained, it may take some time to encrypt it.
1. Log in as the machine administrator from the control panel.
2. Press [System Settings].
3. Press [Administrator Tools].
4. Press [ ] to display Page 11.
5. Press [Machine Data Encryption Settings].
