e joystick features a DPS (dynamic positioning sys-

tem) button option which can be activated through the

retail dealer who can order the needed soft ware from
Volvo.
Th

e DPS feature assists in retaining a selected position

and compass heading from the vessel’s GPS signal. Th

is

can be benefi cial while waiting for a dock or a bridge
to open or to remain over a favorite fi shing or diving
location.
When employing this feature the operator must main-
tain helm control since legally the vessel is considered
to be under way. Also, keep several boat lengths away
from swimmers, other vessels and objects.

in chapter 6.
