Troubleshooting Interface Problems

Troubleshooting Print Quality Problems

Symptom

Problem

Solution

Config print page
does not print.

PS not selected.

Make sure Mode is set to PS.

Printer does not
respond.

The printer is not turned on.

Turn on the printer. The power switch is on the front of
the printer in the lower left-hand corner.

Printer does not
respond.

The printer is not properly
connected.

Refer to “Connecting the Printer Cable” on Page 9 for
detailed connection instructions.

Symptom

Problem

Solution

Prints are streaked
or spotted.

The thermal print head is
dirty.

Clean the thermal print head. Refer to “Cleaning the
Thermal Print Head” on Page 148 for instructions.

The prints are
smudged.

There are fingerprints on the
paper and/or the printer
ribbon.

Load the print cassette with clean paper.

◆

Don’t touch the paper or ribbon before printing.

◆

Press the Reprint button on the printer’s front panel
to print another copy on the ribbon’s next color set.
