With BD-ROMs, it is p ossible to use BD-J (Java)
a pp lications to c r eate highly inte r active titles, fo r
exam p le including games.

 Playing DVDs
This label indicates playback compatibility with DVD-RW
discs recorded in VR format (Video Recording format).
However, for discs recorded with a record-only-once
encrypted program, playback can only be achieved using a
CPRM compatible device.
The AVCHD is a high definition (HD) digital video came r a
r eco r de r fo r mat r eco r ding high-definition onto ce r tain
media by using highly efficient codec technologies.
“AVCHD” and the “AVCHD” logo are trademarks of
Panasonic Corporation and Sony Corporation.
 About region numbers
Blu- r ay Disc Playe r and BD-ROM o r DVD-Video discs a r e
assigned r egion numbe r s acco r ding to the r egion in
which they a r e sold.
This p laye r ’s r egion numbe r s a r e:

• DVD-Video: 1
Discs not including these numbe r s cannot be p layed.
Discs p layable on this p laye r a r e as shown below.

 Playing CDs
Rega r ding co p y pr otected CDs: This p laye r is designed to
confo r m to the s p ecifications of the Audio CD fo r mat.
This p laye r does not su pp o r t the p layback o r function of
discs that do not confo r m to these s p ecifications.
 DualDisc playback
A DualDisc is a two-sided disc, one side of which
contains DVD content — video, audio, etc. — while the
othe
r side contains non-DVD content such as digital
audio mate r ial.
The DVD side of a DualDisc can be p layed on this p laye r .
The non-DVD, audio side of the disc is not com p atible
with this p laye r .
It is p ossible that when loading o r ejecting a DualDisc,
the o pp osite side to that being p layed will be sc r atched.
Sc r atched discs may not be p layable.

 Playing discs created on computers

good due to cha r acte r istics of the disc, sc r atches, di r t
on the disc, di r t on the r eco r de r ’s lens, etc.
 About video, audio, and image files
and folders
Audio and image files can be p layed on this p laye r when
the folde r s on the disc o r USB device a r e c r eated as
desc r ibed below.
Exam p le of folde r st r uctu r e:
* The numbe r of folde r s and files within a single folde r
(including the r oot di r ecto r y) is limited to a maximum of
256. Also, kee p the numbe r of folde r laye r s to a maximum
of 5.
