Connecting up
Be su r e to tu r n off the p owe r and un p lug the p owe r co r d
f r om the p owe r outlet wheneve r making o r changing
connections.
Afte r connecting, make the settings at the Setup
Navigator o r Initial Setup menu acco r ding to the ty p e of
cable connected ( p age 20).
Also r efe r to the o p e r ating inst r uctions fo r the device
being connected.
Connecting using an
HDMI cable
The audio and video signals can be t r ansfe rr ed to HDMI-
com p atible devices as digital signals with no loss of
sound o r video quality.
Note
• Make the settings at the Setup Navigator menu
acco r ding to the connected HDMI-com p atible device
( p age 20).
• 1080 p video signals may not be out p ut, de p ending on
the HDMI cable being used.

colo r com p onent. Subtle colo r g r adations can be
r e pr oduced when this p laye r is connected to a TV that

This pr oduct is com p atible with “x.v.Colo r ” that have the
ca p ability to r ealize a wide-gamut colo r s p ace based on
the xvYCC s p ecifications.
Playing video signals confo r ming to “xvYCC” standa r ds
on this p laye r when this p laye r is connected to an
“x.v.Colo r ”-com p atible TV, etc., ex p ands colo r
r e pr oduction ca p abilities, allowing natu r al colo r s to be
r e pr oduced mo r e faithfully than eve r .
“x.v.Colo r ” is a pr omotion name given to the pr oducts that
have the ca p ability to r ealize a wide-gamut colo r s p ace
based on the inte r national standa r d s p ecifications
defined as xvYCC.

HDMI OUT terminal

Linea r PCM audio signals meeting the following
conditions can be out p ut:
– Sam p ling f r equency: 32 kHz to 192 kHz
– Numbe r of channels: U p to 8 (u p to 6 fo r a 192 kHz
sam p ling f r equency)
• DSD audio
 When connected to a DVI device

It is not possible to connect DVI devices
(computer displays, for example) that are not
compatible with HDCP.
HDCP is a s p ecification to
pr otect audiovisual content ac r oss the DVI/HDMI
inte r face.
• No audio signals a r e out p ut. Connect using an audio
cable, etc.
• This p laye r is designed fo r connection with HDMI-
com p atible devices. When connected to a DVI device,
it may not o p e r ate pr o p e r ly de p ending on the DVI
device.
About Control Function with
HDMI
The functions wo r k when a cont r ol function with HDMI-
com p atible Pionee r Flat Sc r een TV o r AV system (AV
r eceive r o r am p lifie r , etc.) is connected to the p laye r using
an HDMI cable.
