Electric Installation
Works on the electric installation may only be effected:
Ö
with cleared power supply
Ö
by trained and qualified electricians
Observe the regulations and standards of electric
engineering.
In Germany, VDE regulations do apply.
For controlling the winch, an electric control is
required.
The respective standard electric control fitted to the electric
wire rope winch is delivered with the winch.
Observe the instructions mentioned below as well as the
technical regulations of the respective country if the electric
control is provided on site. , i.e. EN 60204 T1 and T32,
The manufacturer of the electric control takes the
responsibility.
Indication EMV
The el. winch with control is designed for industry.
The winch has to be switched at max. 5 times/mi-
nute to accomplish the standards for elec-
tromagnetic emissions EN DIN 50081-2). EMV pro-
ceedings (e.g. line filter) have to be carried out if the
winch has to be switched more than 5 times/minute
or by using other electronic switching circuits (on
site or delivered as option).
Electric controls can be delivered as:
direct control

Wire rope winches with a load of 1000 kg and more have to
be equipped with an overload protection.

are designed for:
Winches with AC connection
Ö
f=50 Hz: 380÷420 V

Type of protection IP 54
Ö
Operating voltage 42 V - 50/60 Hz
Attention
When connecting the
winch to a three-phase
network U=440÷460V,
the bridge of the trans-
former has to be switched
from A÷B to B÷C !

For supply of the control current circuit, a transformer
with galvanic separation must be used (provided in
Pfaff-silberblau controls) Exception direct control acc.
to EN 60204 T32 § 9.1, § 9.2.5.10.
In any case, an easily accessible emergency stop push-
button (switch) has to be provided. (provided in Pfaff-
silberblau controls, different designs)
Emergency-stop switch
An emergency shut-off switch must be located at
each control point and must be quickly and easily
accessible. Where necessary, there must also be an
additional device for emergency stop, like f. e
around an unprotected winch.
Main switch
For design with direct control a main switch must
be provided on site.
In contactor control a main switch is included.
Main current fuses / Feed cable /

Attention!
When using longer cables one must consider an additional
loss of current.
Consult your electrical engineer.
The connecting cables are to be laid in suitable cable chan-
nels or protection tubes.
Sharp edges, wire edges, rough surfaces or screw threads
which the cable wires may come in to contact with, must be
removed from around the cable channels.
If a control is provided on site, the circuit diagram of
the manufacturer has to be presented. Observe the
valid regulations.
The connection of the wire rope winch always has to
be effected according to the circuit diagram included
into delivery or to that provided on site!
