Troubleshooting 

NOTE: Troubleshooting as described in this chapter should be performed only by a qualified 

service engineer.  

 

Problem

During Oil Analysis 
The results obtained for 

one or more properties are 

unacceptable. 

The oil type entered during 

'Prepare Run' is incorrect. 

Ensure the correct oil type has 

been entered. 

 

The cell pathlength may not 

be correct.

The flowcell may be dirty or 

have a build-up of material on 

the windows. 

Clean the flowcell (see

spectrum of the empty cell to 

ensure that it is clean. Ensure 

the pathlength is calculated 

correctly. 

 

The oil may not be 

representative of the whole 

sample. 

Ensure that the portion 

sampled was collected roughly 

halfway through the filtration

Syringe pump is not 

pumping or stalls.
