Computing on the Road
The drive power remains off when the computer is started up.
The DVD-ROM & CD-R/RW drive consumes power just by being on, even when it is
not being used. Turning this [Off] will reduce the power consumption.
Even if this is set to [Off], if Windows has been started up, the drive power can be
turned on using the drive power/open switch.
If you want to use the computer with the [CD/DVD Drive Power] set to [On], you can
also turn the drive power off using the drive power/open switch when you are not
using the drive. (

When using this computer with the battery pack only

We recommend against using applications that place a significant load on the CPU.
Some screensavers place a large burden on the CPU even when you are not operating
the computer.
We recommend that you do not use a screensaver.

We recommend that you fully charge the battery pack beforehand.

When using the computer on the road, we recommend that you always carry the AC
adaptor.

At the time of purchase, the power saving function on the USB2.0 USB Root Hub is
set to off. To extend battery operation time, turn the power saving function on using
the following procedure:
