SD Memory Card

Removing the Card

CAUTION

z

Disable the card function before removing the card.

z

Do not remove the card in the following conditions. Important data may be damaged,
or it may not be possible to properly access the card the next time it is inserted.
• In standby or hibernation mode
• When a file is opened from an SD memory card

Close the file before removing the SD memory card.

• While data is being read from or written to the card
• Immediately after writing

Access may continue for some time.

Confirm the SD memory card indicator turns off completely.

When SD memory card security function is enabled, it may be possible to
remove the card even when

is blinking. (

Disable the card function.

(When the SD memory card is removed after the computer is turned off, this step is
not necessary.)

A

Double-click the

icon on the notification area, click [Secure Digital

Storage Device], then click [Stop].

B

Click [OK] on the [Stop a Hardware device] screen.

When you press the card, it will stick out of the slot. Now pull it all the
way out.

If you try to force the card out of the slot while it is locked in place, the card or
slot may be damaged.

Always store the SD memory card in its case after removing it from a computer.
