Inserting/Removing a Disk
CAUTION

When inserting or removing a disk, be careful not to touch the drive lens.

Slide the drive power/open switch (A) while the computer's power is
on.
z
A "beep" will sound, and the disk cover will open slightly.
(When the speaker function is disabled, e.g., by the key combination the
Fn
+
F4
key, there will be no sound. By the key combination the
Fn
+
F5
key, there will
be lower sound.)
z
If the DVD-ROM & CD-R/RW drive status indicator is off (drive power is off), it
will take some time for the drive power to turn on, and for the disk cover to open.
Wait for a moment.
z
When using B’s CLiP, operations may differ depending on conditions. (

Raise the disk cover a little.
z
The disk cover will open up to about 80 degrees. Do not force it open any wider.
If you accidentally touch the disk cover causing the disk cover to open 80
degrees or more, press the cover forward slowly until the stopper returns to its
original position.
z
If a hand is on the disk cover or the display is closed, and the disk cover cannot
open, the drive will not be accessed correctly. In this case, open and close the
disk cover once or restart the computer, and then try accessing once more.

With the title side of the disk (B) facing up, insert the disk under the keyboard.

Push down on the center of the disk until it clicks in place.
