When combining the PROFINET MRP ring redundancy and the IO Controller redundancy a control
system with a high reliability can be achieved. Single points of failure should have no influence on
the operation of the application. A system with both PROFINET MRP ring redundancy and IO Con-
troller redundancy could be set up like the picture below.
