 IO Controller
A PROFINET IO Controller is the central device in the PROFINET network. It has the control over
the state of the network and processes the data and alarms. The IO Controller typically is a CPU
Unit that processes the data and alarms in the user program. It establishes the connection to the
devices on the network during system start-up.
