Replacing the Enclosure

10 Install the replacement storage enclosure.
a For Rack Installations. Follow the installation procedures in Chapter 3,
“Installing the Enclosure into the Rack Cabinet” on page 24.
OR
b For Deskside Tower Installations. Follow the installation procedures in
Chapter 3, “Installing the Enclosure into the Tower Stand” on page 27.
11 Re-install the power supply (both if dual power supply option is installed).

Re-install the cooling fan module.
13 Re-install the RAID controller.
14 Reconnect the data cables and power cords/cables. Refer to the notations
made prior to removing the cables for their proper connection location.
15 Re-install the disk drives. Refer to the notes or tags to correct install the
drives in the new enclosure same slots.
16 Re-install the front bezel and secure it. Rotate the fasteners clockwise to lock.
17 Power on the storage enclosure(s) and then the host computer(s). Refer to
“Powering On the Storage System” on page 41.
18 Verify that all systems are operating normally.
19 Using the packaging materials from the replacement storage enclosure,
repackage and return the defective enclosure per your RMA instructions.
