VT-100 Interface Enclosure Monitoring
Another feature of the NexStor 4700S is the ability to monitor the enclosure
components and display the real time data to a VT-100 terminal interface. The
user can also view firmware specific detail information. You access this
menu-driven program by connecting a VT-100 terminal (or host serial port with
VT-100 emulation) to the RAID Controller’s RS-232 Service port.
To access the monitoring program:

Connect the USB end of the SATA Communication RS-232 cable to the RS-232
Service port located on the RAID Controller. The cable is included with the
storage system.

2 Connect the other end of the cable to either a host system’s RS-232 serial
communication port or a VT-100 type terminal port.
3 Power on the storage system enclosure.
4 On a host system, run a terminal emulation program or start the terminal.
5 Verify that the communication parameters are as follows:
• 115,200 Baud
• 8 Data bits
• 1 Stop bit
• None (parity)
• Flow Control Off
6 Power on the storage system.
