Replacing a RAID Controller
1 Power down the enclosure. Refer to “Powering Off the Storage System” on
page 41.
2 Pull the latches on each side of the controller out then pull the controller
from the enclosures. You may use the latches as pull devices to assist
removing the controller.
Removing the RAID Controller
3 Remove the new replacement controller from the shipping container and
inspect for obvious damage. Save the packaging materials.
4 Install the new replacement controller into the enclosure.
Orient the controller correctly and slide it into the open bay. Ensure that the
termination DIP switch settings match those of the controller being replaced.

Secure the controller by pressing in on the latches until they fully seat.
6 Power-on the enclosure. Refer to “Powering On the Storage System” on
page 41.
7 Using the packaging materials from the replacement controller, repackage the
failed controller and return it per your RMA instructions.
