CAUTION
Visible or invisible laser radiation
could cause damage to eye or skin.
• Avoid eye or skin exposure to direct or scattered radiation.
•
Parametrize the laser for visual set up with average power and pulse
repetition rate as low as possible.
Switch on the laser beam:

5. Adjust the polarization via the 2 levers at the polarization unit inside the scan
head.
TIP
Set only one of the levers with each repetition of the steps.
6. Measure the polarization with the Glan-Thompson polarization meter.
7. If the laser beam is
not
circularly polarized then repeat this procedure from
step 5 on page 59 else the polarization is circular now.
8. Switch off the laser beam:

9. Tighten the 2 set screws again.
10. Repeat subsection
6.7.6 on page 56 until the settings are OK.
11. Proceed with section 6.8.1 on page 59 .

6.8.1 Activating scan field illumination
The VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) device illuminates the scan field for
the through-the-lens vision camera.
